A good scrub is the best way to ensure your RV looks great and feels fresh inside and out. After winter storage it isn't uncommon for dust to build up or organic growth to take hold, depending on how it was put away.

Water System Flush

Flushing the water system before use is important to remove any sediment or chemicals that may be present from the winterization process. Once the water tank is full or connected to water, run the sinks, showers and other water outlets to rinse them out. As they're running, check for any leaks in pipes, outlets and the water heater.

Safety & Tire Check

An RV safety check that includes a motorhome tire inspection is necessary as you get your recreational vehicle ready for the road. This should include testing the smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and ensuring you have working fire extinguishers on board. You also ought to put together a first aid kit, if you have not already done so. Stock plenty of bottled water and some survival tools as well, like a shovel and ax. You never know when they'll come in handy.

Test Generator, Electrical System & Appliances

Before setting out, testing the generator and appliances will ensure you don't end up in the dark or hungry once you get to your destination. Once plugged into power or connected to propane, depending on your RV, test your stove, fridge, microwave, air conditioner and try out all your outlets.
